THE
CRYPT SCHOOL :
A Specialist Science
School
Equipped population : Students
Used material : HP 2133 Mini
Notebook
In September 2008, the Crypt School was entering its 3rd year of supplying laptops to students. The laptop of choice: the new HP 2133 Mini Notebook, a small and powerful notebook manufactured by the reputable HP.
Within the first 2 years, Crypt School officials realized they needed to properly protect their expensive investment. It was obvious that having the right level of security for their new laptops would save the school not only time and stress, but lots of money in repair costs. Unfortunately, due to the Mini Notebook’s 6 cell battery, finding a case was difficult.
“Off the shelf cases were either to wide, too shallow or both, and none were robust enough for our purposes. In June 2008, we set about looking for a custom case suitable for the 2133 that could withstand the treatment handed out by our students. Out of the 14 potential UK and international suppliers, only Mobilis listened to us and made the effort to understand our situation. Sam Stanley took considerable time to discuss our needs, eventually visiting us with samples of Mobilis cases to define exactly what we required. We provided a sample 2133, which Mobilis returned in pristine condition in a prototype case that was small, tough and an exact fit for the unit. Mobilis even made suggestions for our custom case, adding features that allowed students full use of their notebook while never having to actually take it out of its protection.
“The full shipment of finished cases arrived, as promised, within our budget. Even shoulder straps were provided. An added bonus was the unique serial number in barcode format on each case which helps tremendously with our inventory management. In our dealings with Mobilis, nothing was too much trouble for them. Sam even specified and supplied a standard Mobilis case for a large screen laptop used by one of our special needs students. Mobilis delivered an outstanding service and product.”

ULTRA
ELECTRONICS® :
Electronics - UK
Equipped
population : 700
airline personnel
Used material :
Symbol scanners
Ultra
Electronics is a company known as a specialist of
electronic and electromechanical systems, subsystems and
other products for defence, security and aerospace
applications. With 3.000 employees in the UK and North
America, Ultra combines the expertise from various
fields. Their key to success consists in answering the
specific needs of each customer with a competitive edge
in terms of technology and productivity. That’s why,
among other, they have chosen the Mobilis cases to
equip their airline staff. Indeed, Ultra Electronics had
troubles in protecting the screens and laser lenses of
their Symbol scanners. Before Mobilis came to help, the
situation was far from a dream: “We had over £10.000
repair bills which have now split to a half”, tells one
of the Account Manager. “The breakage rate and the
scanner loss have reduced, mainly due to the V form hand
straps”. This has an immediate effect on the efficiency
level of the workers. “The users thought at first that
the cases would only make the device heavier and thus
more difficult to use, but now they have worked more
with, they have come to accept the case as a practical
part of it. The portability and protection combo is
fully accepted by the employees, impressive!”
“Protection” is the key work here – something in common
between Ultra Electronics and Mobilis…

E-ON®
: Power & gas - UK
Equipped
population :
Field Sales force
Used material :
Fujitsu Siemens Pen tablet PC
Headquartered
in Germany, E-ON has an impressive status as one of the
world’s leading energy companies with core activities in
power and gas. The company boasts nearly 40 million
customers and a talented staff of some 88,000 employees.
Like many large corporations, E-ON provided their sales
staff with tablet PC’s in order to conduct field work
more efficiently. Each employee relied heavily on the
use of their tablet PC making it a vital aspect of E-ON’s
daily business- making it a device that needed proper
protection. Having been previously unsatisfied using
generic leather cases, E-ON turned to Mobilis for a
solution. As stated by the IT manager of E-ON U.K, “We
needed something that would make the hardware completely
waterproof, and protected. If the pen or tablet were to
break, that owner would be unable to work for the next
24 hours, and that could potentially compromise our
business. The solution provided by the Mobilis
protective cases was just right”. Indeed, Mobilis armed
each of the E-ON tablet PC’s with a waterproof and shock
proof case that provided E-ON staff the high level of
security needed to engage in daily “on-the-go” business
activities.
